SUMMARY:June Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Karen Varni with the Soroptimists will be our speaker. She will be sharing about the Calaveras Soroptimist organization and the projects they are currently working on. \nKaren Varni is now retired after 36 years with the County of Calaveras\, the last 20 of which were as the County Clerk-Recorder and Elections Official. This included being the Registrar of Voters\, Registrar of Vital Statistics\, Commissioner of Civil Marriages\, and Ex-Officio Clerk to the Board of Supervisors. Prior to being elected\, she served as the Clerk-Administrator of the Calaveras County Superior \nCourt\, which also came with many other titles. \nKaren has two sons\, three grandsons\, and daughters-in-law that are the biggest and most important part of her life. Volunteering is something she started as a teenager and has continued as an adult. She has been a member of Soroptimist International of Calaveras County (SICC) for 31 years\, currently serving as President. \nKaren will be speaking about the history of Soroptimist International\, a global women’s service organization\, SICC\, and their contributions to women\, girls\, and families in Calaveras County\, their current projects\, and future goals.
