Karen Varni
Karen Varni is retired after 36 years with the County of Calaveras, the last 20 of which were as the County Clerk-Recorder and Elections Official. This included being the Registrar of Voters, Registrar of Vital Statistics, Commissioner of Civil Marriages and Ex-Officio Clerk to the Board of Supervisors. Prior to being elected, she served as the Clerk-Administrator of the Calaveras County Superior Court, which also came with many other titles.
Karen has two sons, three grandsons, and daughters-in-law that are the biggest and most important part of her life. Volunteering is something she started as a teenager and has continued as an adult. She has been a member of Soroptimist International of Calaveras County (SICC) for 31 years, currently serving as President.
Karen will update us about Soroptimist International in Calaveras County, their current projects and future goals.
